How it all began
We started roasting coffee together 6 years ago. We loved crafting, roasting and creating beautiful coffee blends, and as the demand for our Organic Signature coffee, from our friends and family got too high, we decided to take the next step, and have set up an organic and speciality Micro Roastery and Coffee Lab, at our home in Batehaven.
Your Gravel Road Roasters
Paige spent her childhood in Papua New Guinea, growing up in the heart of the roasting Houses of Goroka, then to moving Lae- the foothills of the Mt Hagen Region -one of PNG’s largest coffee growing regions. Planting the seed for a long lasting love of coffee, with a focus on sustainable farming and ethical community practices. She has worked as a speciality barista, in the community and cultural arts fields, as well as working in academic teaching and research, Visual Communications and live performance.
Julian grew up the Beautiful Blue Mountains, he is an accomplished musician, visual artist, and a la carte’ chef. A master in the art of coffee Roasting, Julian studied and learnt the craft under master roasters in Brisbane, and over the past decade had refined his roasting and profiling techniques into the refined compositions he brings to gravel road roasters handcrafted coffee
With over 20 years joint experience in the coffee industry we have honed our skills in developing blending and roasting Signature Organic and Australian coffee’s, and are pleased to be able to share this with our local producecommunities
We are a small, family run, home based roastery and offer our range of organic blends and single origins to a small number of locally owned retailers and local produce markets.
We source, handcraft and roast the best Australia Arabica and a speciality range of international organic and fair trade coffees in partnership with 11 International organic coffee farms. We have coffee in a range of seasonal blends and single origins. Our coffee is available in whole bean or ground to brew at home.
